Our Story

In the modern world, homes are too often designed devoid of what makes them special in the first place: family and community. Houses are getting larger as families are shrinking. Here at Bird Nest we have carefully designed each space to create a place for warmth and connection reinventing co-living altogether to bring you an effortless and hassle-free experience.

In early 2023, Bird Nest was born to accommodate the increase in housing demand from the Johns Hopkins Medical campus. Since inception, Bird Nest has committed to building community, and to ensuring the safety and comfort of everyone who stays with us.

The best place there is! She is an amazing landlady and the place was just perfect. I had the master bedroom on the 3rd floor and it felt like home. Not only is the house soo pretty but she’s great as a person as well. One thing I know for sure is that when I come back to JHU (which I am for sure) I am staying at her place and her place only… it was too good of an experience 💯✨🏡
Also, I almost forgot to mention this, but the reason why this experience was so good was because she really cared about our comfort and safety and you can see that all the way from interior designing of the place to her kind nature towards everyone. 🔥

It was an amazing experience staying at this house. Wonkyung is a wonderful host and made me feel so welcome and comfortable during my stay. I have lived in this house since October 2021 and have nothing but great things to say about Wonkyung. She does a fantastic job of fostering a sense of community atmosphere among the residents. The community she created made communal living easy and created a space for tenants to develop great relationships with each other. She is understanding, courteous, and attentive to the needs of her tenants. She goes above and beyond to ensure each tenant is comfortable and their needs are met. She is responsive to any of our inquiries and gives us an advance heads-up about maintenance. I am grateful to have lived here and will forever feel at home. Overall, I recommend renting a place from Wonkyung!

I have been living at Patterson Park since August 2021 and I bet I wouldn't find any place better than this! Wonkyung, the landlady, made this place better than HOME! No words can do justice in describing how she treats the tenants as her family and takes care of their needs and well-being. She cares about the tenant's comfort over anything else. Coming from India half a globe away is in itself a big stress but finding this house made life easier than ever. Highly recommended!
